The Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA) added 116 products to the mandatory list of national products across four main sectors, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, paper consumer products, as well as personal and household equipment and supplies.
Abdulrahman Al Samari, CEO of LCGPA, said the move is part of the authority’s efforts to enhance local content through implementing the mechanisms of the local content preference regulation and supporting small and medium enterprises as well as companies listed on the financial market.
He pointed out that 26 national factories have the capacity to meet government demand, with total government spending on these products reaching SAR 394 million.
