NWC to reroute pipe intersecting with Riyadh Metro project, promises minimal impact

National Water Company is coordinating with local authorities to reroute the CF2 water pipeline in Riyadh as it intersects with ongoing construction work on the Riyadh Metro. The project, which will start on January 5, 2016, is expected to take 10 working days.

NWC said it has studied the timing of the rerouting with all related authorities and chose to execute the project during the midterm vacation for schools and universities. In addition, the work will take place in winter, when water consumption is usually low. NWC also assured its customers that the impact of the rerouting would be minimal and full preparations have been made to ensure a continuous water flow.

There is a framework of cooperation in place involving NWC, contractors working on the Riyadh Metro and Riyadh Municipality. The Company completed preparations for the rerouting by working with the Saline Water Conversion Corporation and the Arriyadh Development Authority.
